FIRST stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology", and was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989. FIRST is an organization that fosters knowledge of science, mechanics, programming, business, and more in high school students. FIRST Robotics Competition is a program developed by FIRST. Every year, teams participating in FRC build robots, and play against other teams in special games. There is a different game each year.
The Fremont Firebird Robotics team strives to promote not only excellence in the fields of mathematics and science, but also community outreach, character development, and gracious professionalism.
